Flip up scope cap for a 46mm outer diameter barrel. The inner diameter of the cap is 46mm, while its outer diameter measures 50mm. Since it's not practical to post a range of different inner diameter caps, use these dimensions to calculate the correct scale to fit a given scope and adjust the file accordingly in the slicer used for printing. Round up for looser tolerances. It's recommended that you round up an additional .25mm to .50mm depending on the output tolerances of your printer. Example: Multiply 50mm OD by X, then divide by 39mm ID. In this case, X equals 42.39mm OD. Round up to 42.5mm for a scale of 85% or 43mm at 86% for a looser fit. 30May18 Update: The files 46mmID_ScopeCap and 46mmID_RingMount have been uploaded with revised tighter hinge tolerances, along with the deletion of the clip lock (which did not keep the cap in the up position as designed). The design was originally intended to be printed as a single in-place piece, requiring looser tolerances to print without fusing the two parts together. Updated files are specifically for printing each part separately, allowing for tighter tolerances. This results in less hinge wobble and the flip-up cap stays open due to friction fit. 31May18 Update: The cover clip locks have been redesigned to keep the flip caps locked in the upward position. The mount ring lip has also been raised for easier alignment during installation.
