Flintlock Mechanism
thingiverse
This is the flintlock and trigger for an India Pattern Brown Bess rifle - a cost-effective solution for arming background soldiers in our productions. We designed it to be simple, allowing easy printing on my Printrbot PLA without worrying about precision, since our closest audience member was likely twenty feet away from these characters and they were just nameless extras anyway. The plates are meant to be secured with drywall screws and the hammer is attached to the plate by a 1/4-20 flathead machine screw and bolt. You'll need to assemble and glue the pieces once printed, but feel free to adjust the hammer's position as needed. Due to time constraints, the pan and frizzen are combined into one solid piece.
