thingiverse
This project shows how a simple polyhedron can be designed as a flat arrangement of FlexMesh shapes that are then folded to create a 3D shape -- a cube.
This design was developed using FlexMesh. Can you think of any other FlexMesh patterns that can be printed flat then folded to create a different 3D shape?
Instructions
This has been printed in ABS using both the Makerbot and Simplify3D slicers with a layer height of 0.2mm, 2 shells and a 20% infill. Some filaments produce more flexible and durable joints than others.
Print 7 pegs that you'll use to assemble the printed FlexMesh into a cube.
