The Greg's - Wade extruder that comes with my Robo 3D R1 printer can handle a wide range of filaments, but it has its limitations. In contrast, the Flexion extruder is more versatile and better suited for use with flexible filaments. It is also smaller, lighter, and requires fewer parts compared to the Greg's - Wade extruder. The stock adapters that come with my printer are designed to work with a limited number of printers and hotends. However, I can mix and match adapters to fit my machine, giving me more flexibility when choosing which filaments to use. These adapters were specifically designed for use with common hotends, including clones, but it's worth noting that parts may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. To ensure dimensional accuracy, strength, and temperature durability, I used Inland PETG to create my adapter. To prevent the wiring harness from being damaged, I recommend using a wire tie or a printed adapter to secure it in place. Additionally, I suggest using Capricorn tubing between the hotend and the Flexion extruder. The PTFE notched tubing that comes with the extruder is sufficient for the upper half of the assembly, but you will need to notch the lower Capricorn tubing. To get everything working correctly, I recommend editing the firmware according to the instructions provided in another listing, which I have also included in my photos. It's worth noting that some users may experience issues with their Robo 3D R1 printer, including problems with reverse motion on the X carriage. However, this issue is not relevant to my setup, and MatterControl works correctly at 83.19 steps per mm in E mode.
