Flexion Adapter Plate for Trinus

This is a printable plastic plate used to attach an aluminum angle iron to the Trinus X carriage so that you can mount a Flexion Extruder. Anyone who owns a Kodama Trinus eventually gets tired of the stock extruder. Although reasonably capable, its enclosed design causes heat creep and clogging. Many owners have adapted the E3D extruder. I decided I would prefer the Flexion for its unmatched ability to print flexible filaments. The pictures are accurate if a bit misleading. They show an earlier version with a longer aluminum bracket. I found the longer bracket used too much z-axis height, so I shortened it. The principles and directions are the same, but your finished product will look slightly different. There is also a cooling fan mount not shown, which I added later. The file for that is here as well. The fan mount is attached to the X-axis plate using longer 3mm screws through the fan mount, then the extruder mounting plate, and into the two threaded holes on top of the X-carriage. To use this plate, you will also need a two-inch wide, 2" x 2" aluminum angle. On one side of the angle, you will need to drill two 4mm holes to allow two M3 screws into the tapped mounting holes on the bottom of the cold block. You will also need to drill a 10 mm hole to allow the throat through the aluminum angle. The back of the plastic plate has countersunk holes for tapered head 6 mm M3 screws. You will need to drill corresponding holes into the other side of the aluminum angle and thread those holes with an M3 .5 mm tap.
