Flexible Storage System with Drawers

Since I had the challenge to somehow organize all the stuff that came together over the time by building and tweaking 3D printers, I was looking for the perfect storage system. But actually most of the systems were either too big or by far to small - or really expensive…

So the natural conlusion was to simply design my own system.

Target was to

make it easy to extend

support various sizes

have drawers to take something out, without the storage system to collapse

print it completely without any support needed (I hate to remove supports…)

Therefore I came up with this system

It is stackable, without the need for external supports - just put one box on the other and they snap in

the elements/drawers have different width: 40mm, 80mm and 120mm

the height is either 40mm for single size drawers or 80mm for double size

each drawer has three positions for a divider implemented

So if you want to print the 80mm single size component, you need as mandatory files the case_80.stl and the drawer_80.stl. The divider_80.stl is optional, depending if or how many you want to have. For the other sizes the filenames follow the same rule.

The wall thickness is 1.2mm - so easily printable with 0.4nozzle and 0.6mm nozzle

Just print the models without any support, I also did not need any brim. Infill is "don't care", since it anyway consists only of 2-3 walls.

I have also added solid 3D models with the extension _VASE >> If you have a 0.6mm or 0.8mm nozzle you can also print the case and the drawer in Vase-Mode. makes it super easy and fast to produce, just target a wall thickness of 1mm, otherwise the divider is quite loose on the inside.

I have tried wall thickness of only 0.6mm > it also works, but stability is reduced and you probably can't stack them too high.

The print of even the big one with 120mm width still fits on the Prusa Mini+ for all parts in one shot.

If you like my work, you can buy me a coffee:

https://paypal.me/rincewind76/1

So I can stay awake longer to make more designs (or fix the existing ones…)
