Flexible Spider Shaft Coupler with Hot Glue Spider

While I appreciate the original Printrbot Z axis shaft coupler's clever design, it doesn't quite work for me in reality. My own coupler frequently slips off the shaft and ruins my prints. As you can clearly see, this finished product works well enough to use on my Printrbot. However, it's worth noting that there is no vertical support when using these couplers; you simply grab the printer's z-axis and lift the entire thing straight up at any time. Therefore, be careful not to disturb your printer too much while in use. This design can handle a lot of misalignment without slipping, but it also ends up being taller than the original Printrbot Z coupler. Honestly, if you're willing to spend around $20, I would suggest purchasing some aluminum bellows or disc-type flexible couplings instead. These types of couplers lock everything in place and prevent accidental lifting of the z-axis.
