So if you're not using OctoPrint served from a Raspberry Pi to drive your 3D printers, you're missing out! It's absolutely the easiest and most convenient way to get printer settings and code from your computer to the build plate! I'm in no way associated with this open-source project or any of its contributors. I'm simply an avid user and fan of this great tool. It's easy to set up and even easier to use. Get OctoPrint here and support the cause here. Now, among the cooler features of the whole OctoPi experience is the support for a PiCam or webcam to monitor your progress in real-time live-stream and/or capture your prints in time-lapse video. Yes, really! The only challenge for me was to find a convenient way to mount and position the camera. I found that for different prints, I wanted new locations to capture the action. So, the Flexible PiCam Mount was born. Just print off the base mount of your choice and fix it wherever it works for you on your cabinet or printer (3M Command strips work great!), print off enough of the ball and socket joint to reach your target, and snap on the camera mount. Here is the camera I use: Waveshare Raspberry Pi Camera with the infrared wings removed. It's a small and good-quality camera with adjustable focus. Plus, I added a longer camera ribbon to make it even easier. Enjoy! And as always, I love to hear your feedback. Also, I want to thank Giufini. The ball joint in this project is a remix of the BS_Joint from his project PCB Workstation with Articulated Arms. Printer: Monoprice Maker Ultimate Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 20% Notes: You may need supports if you print the ball and socket joints in the socket down orientation. This orientation gives a slightly more snug fit to the resulting arm.
