To print a flexible Ninja figure using Ninjaflex, utilize your Makerbot Replicator with the Flexion Extruder at 70mm/s. This new TPE filament can be found here: http://www.fennerdrives.com/ninjaflex3dprinting/. For a visual demonstration, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpkvHo6a888. For optimal results, print with flexible material and add supports to ensure better success. If using rigid ABS material, supports may not be necessary. Your Makerbot Replicator (original version with MK8 spring-loaded extruder upgrade) should have an extruder temperature of 215°C. The printing platform can be room temperature, bare aluminum, glass, or Kapton tape, all of which work well. Standard Replicator settings are sufficient, but fine-tuning retraction settings (Skeinforge under Dimension tab) may yield even better results: Minimum Travel for Retraction: 1.0mm, Retraction Distance: 2.0mm.
