Flexible Multipurpose Strap (NinjaFlex)

Flexible Multipurpose Strap (NinjaFlex)

I needed a small, adjustable strap for some printed wearable projects I've been working on and decided to use my NinjaFlex to create one. This particular design is surprisingly strong and easy to use, requiring no hard plastic components to keep it together. You can even fold over extra strap material and connect it to keep it out of the way, as seen in the final photo. I added a modified version of the strap with more holes so it could be used as a cable tie or simply wrapped around something smaller. I also included a tab at the very end to make it easier to pull and attach, or remove, when needed. After getting a suggestion from a friend, I created a new strap design that loops through itself, allowing it to be used as a cable tie or in numerous other ways. This updated design lets you tuck away excess strap length so it's not flailing about. I also developed two longer straps, with the longest one capable of fitting around a larger Nalgene bottle. Both require a large print bed but can be scaled down. Instructions: I utilize an E3D Volcano hot-end and employ a 0.6mm nozzle with a layer height of 0.3mm and two 'shells'. My speed was approximately 15mm/s, and the print temperature was around 218C. These designs are also printed on a modified gMax 1.0 printer by gCreate (gcreate.com), which has a large enough build area to accommodate the larger strap sizes. If oriented at an angle, most may fit normal-sized build platforms.
