Flexible Lens Hood for Minolta 17-35f2.8-4 super wide agle zoom

This lens hood boasts a two-part design, with the bayonet crafted from a ridged material (PETG in my case) and the tube fashioned from a flexible material (TPU, again my preference). The flexible outer layer provides an extra layer of protection to the lens. Designed for a snug fit in both mechanical and optical aspects, this lens hood reverses over the lens, preventing it from getting caught. A margin of slightly more than 1mm exists between the edges and the view port. Initially designed with the Minolta-AF 17-35 F2.8-4 D in mind, this lens hood fits perfectly in terms of optics. Since the bayonet design is common among older Tamron-designed super wides, it will also fit several other lenses available with different mounts: * Tamron-SP AF 11-18 F4.5-5.6 Di II LD Aspherical IF * Minolta-AF DT 11-18 F4.5-5.6 D * Sony-AF DT 11-18 F4.5-5.6 D * Tamron-SP AF 17-35 F2.8-4 Di LD Aspherical IF * Minolta-AF 17-35 F2.8-4 D * Tamron-SP AF 10-24 F3.5-4.5 Di-II LD Aspherical IF (though, admittedly, it's not ideal in optical terms, as the nodal point is positioned much further forward on the lens) I have little patience for stock lens hoods, which are often bulky, poorly matched to the field of view, and a nightmare to fit without risking damage to internal mechanisms. One drawback of homemade lens hoods lies in their tendency to glitter. A narrow opening at the front can help mitigate this issue, while sanding or applying matt black paint may also be effective solutions.
