Flexible Key and Curved Lock Channel
myminifactory
This innovative object was entered into the MakeShaper Design Challenge, showcasing cutting-edge solutions. A sleek lock design features a curved channel that enables users to print flexible keys, allowing them to slide through and unlock the device seamlessly. This approach effectively prevents picking, with room for even more refined versions in the future. Designed specifically for the FLEXIBLE challenge, this project was completed just three days before the deadline, given the constraints of basic CADing skills. To assemble this lock, three springs are required, which must be inserted into the HULL first, followed by the driver pins and finally the keypin in the plug. For a detailed understanding of the assembly process, refer to the accompanying diagram. The springs were sourced from similar pens, demonstrating an effective solution. Although images are currently unavailable due to camera constraints, they will be added soon to provide a clearer visual representation of this innovative design.
