Flexible Iphone4 Case
thingiverse
This text outlines a flexible, elastomeric TPE filament designed specifically for use in iPhone4 cases and created using the Replicator printer. The engineer behind this development hails from Fenner Drives, where the team spent a year perfecting the formula after receiving requests to use their urethane belts in 3D printers. Although their standard materials were not suitable for FDM printing, they successfully created a formulation that works well. The product can be found at http://www.fennerdrives.com/3D, and a video demonstration is available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpkvHo6a888. For optimal results when printing with this material, use a Makerbot Replicator (original version with the MK8 spring-loaded extruder upgrade) and set the extruder temperature to 215°C. The platform should be at room temperature, and can be bare aluminum, glass or Kapton tape. Standard Replicator settings work well, but retraction settings can be further adjusted for even better results (in Skeinforge under Dimension tab: Minimum Travel for Retraction 1.0mm, Retraction Distance 2.0mm).
