Flexible Filament Sample Spool Adapter
thingiverse
My Multi-size Spool Tri-Adapter Roller Axle and Universal Spool Holder serve almost all spools, but flexible filament sample spools are the exception. To address this issue, I created an adapter that accommodates these spools. I hope you enjoy using it! Updated 11/14/2017 A STEP file is now available for anyone who wants to modify this design. This file can be opened in various CAD packages, including AutoDesk's free Fusion 360. Updated 9/17/2018 The "NutPlug" STL and STEP files have been added. When assembled as designed, it uses a 3/8" coupling nut with a tight friction fit. Additionally, the "PVC Corner" STL, 123DX, and STEP files are now available. I admit that the STEP file is not of the best quality since it was translated from an STL file originally designed in AutoDesk's discontinued 123D Design. However, if you have 123D Design, I've also included that file. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Silver Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: I use 30% Notes: Temperature settings depend on the material used and your own filament-specific settings. Post-Printing The adapter should work off the bed. Simply add some R6 bearings to smoothly roll out your filament. How I Designed This I designed my parts using SolidEdge ST9, which is equivalent to SolidWorks.
