Flexible Filament Insert E3D Titan/Aero

Flexible Filament Insert E3D Titan/Aero

I purchased a direct drive Titan Aero to enable smoother work with flexible filaments on my railcore 2 build. However, I encountered an issue where the flexible filament was consistently pushed out beyond the original guide during printing, causing the print to fail. To rectify this problem, I inserted a new filament guide between the hotend and the filament gear. This upgrade significantly improved control over flexible filaments like Ninjaflex. To achieve a seamless fit, it's essential to carefully sand or dremel the surface before installation. Once in place, a PTFE tube is inserted as per the original design specifications. My current print settings are optimized for carbon fiber PETG at 0.1mm layer thickness, with three perimeter shells and 50% infill density.
