Flexible couplings facilitate torque transmission between two slightly misaligned shafts, accommodating up to 3° angular misalignment and some parallel misalignment. These couplings also serve for vibration damping and noise reduction purposes. They safeguard the driving and driven shaft components from potential harm caused by shaft misalignments, sudden shocks, expansions or vibrations.
