FlexiBit Self-Connecting Shape
thingiverse
This versatile tile connects seamlessly to itself, making it perfect for crafting three-dimensional designs or flat shapes limited only by one's imagination. As I explore this flexible piece, I'm excited to test its capabilities. It's a great item to print when you need to test your 3D printer or want to use up some filament while brainstorming your next creative project. When sliced, it requires approximately 0.82 meters of filament or about two grams. A single unit STL file is included, along with a five-piece array that can be arranged in various configurations. To assemble the pieces, simply snap them together after removing any brim and cleaning up the split area with a knife to ensure free movement. With gentle pressure, the tiles snap into place as shown. You can then arrange them however you like and experiment with different color combinations for unique effects. These tiles also make great drink coasters in 3x3 or 4x4 shapes, and they serve as an engaging fidget item when not supporting a drink. Keep an eye out for my upcoming share of a snap-in strut connector I'm working on, which will enable cross-members in cylindrical structures and other complex shapes.
