Flexi Raptor

A flexible velociraptor that's sure to impress! This is a highly detailed print-in-place model I spent considerable time designing. With an impressive 19 joints, this model requires careful attention to detail, especially when it comes to the smaller tail links, which can be prone to breaking due to their size. Be cautious not to damage these links during printing. This velociraptor model is incredibly versatile and can stand on its own or hang from a sturdy object. It's even capable of biting its own tail! One minor issue is that the link just behind his hip may feel stiff after printing, but with some gentle manipulation, it should become flexible. I've taken care to ensure this model prints and pops off the build plate in a completely flexible state. For optimal results, try hanging it from a computer monitor – it seems to love being displayed this way! Feel free to get creative and have fun with this design! Special thanks go to DrLex, Kirbs, and airfish for developing the link mechanic used in this model. **Important note: This model is not suitable for young children, as the tail end pieces may be fragile and could potentially break off and be ingested.** If you have an idea for my next project, please don't hesitate to reach out! **Update 5-10-18:** I've made some improvements to this design: * Improved feet for better stability * Adjusted tail positioning to prevent binding during printing * These changes have been verified on 5/11/18 **Update 6-16-18:** Further enhancements include: * Strengthened end tail pieces * Flattened top of angled tail parts for a smoother finish * Use the "STRONGER TAIL" file for optimal results * These changes have been verified on 6/16/18 **Update 7-25-18:** Wow, I'm thrilled to see this model has reached 1000 likes – thank you all for your support! **Update 7-29-18:** * Verified that the model can be printed up to 175% scale without issue * Confirmed that the model can be printed down to 65% scale and retain flexibility, but requires careful handling to achieve complete flexibility. I attribute this to reduced clearance. * Recommended minimum scale: 75% for good printers, 100% for poorly tuned printers. **Update 3-4-19:** New features include: * A two-part design with a separate tail section for larger prints * Verified that the model can be printed up to 325% scale using the split files * Added images showcasing scales of 65%, 100%, 125%, 175%, and 325% * Confirmed that the model can be printed in PETG * Thank you all for your continued support! **Update 2-20-20:** Exciting new developments include: * A four-part design for even larger prints * Use files: tail only 2 and 3, and body only 2 and 3
