Flexi-felixstruder for Felix 3.0
thingiverse
This modification upgrades the Felix 3.0's extruder arm for painless extrusion of flexible filaments. Based on the Flexystruder design by Lulzbot and Fabsterdam's adaptation, this update enables seamless integration of flexible materials. To achieve this upgrade, a half-circle groove for the driving gear is all that's needed, letting the PTFE tube reach directly into the extruder entrance without obstruction. **Step-by-Step Instructions** Print the updated arm with an 80% density infill, and preferably use ABS material. Replace the original extruder arm with this modified one. Insert a PTFE tube (2mm inner diameter, 4mm outer diameter) into the hotend until it reaches its designated position. Mark where the driving gear makes contact with the tube, then remove it for further processing. Trim a semicircle from the tube so that the driving cog remains in direct contact with the flexible filament throughout its movement. Reinsert the tube and cut off any excess at the extruder entrance. Optional: Drill the nozzle to an enlarged diameter of 0.6mm for increased flexibility when printing.
