Flexi Dragon
thingiverse
I searched everywhere but couldn't find a flexible dragon that fit my son's needs, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and modify a model found on Thingiverse here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:570345. The model was created by muzz64, and I'm grateful for their contribution. After some tinkering, I managed to flatten it out, articulate it, and create my very first articulated project - the Flexi Dragon. I plan on making a few updates as needed. I highly recommend doing some light sanding to round off the wings, as this will improve the overall look of the model. The original dimensions are 160.65 mm wide, but be careful not to scale it down too much, or the articulations may become weak. I printed my model at 80% and it's still the smallest size I recommend. If you're interested in seeing more makes, please like and post your own prints. Happy printing! A big thank you goes out to Neyrs for their excellent articulation models and tutorial, which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2840744/#files. Update 2018-05-12 I've taken the time to listen to feedback from users and made some changes to the model to make it even better and easier to print. The new pictures showcase the updated design. The new model measures 114mm long and 14mm thick, and printing it at 100% is all you need to do - there's no need to scale it down. This version stands up much better than before. Please download the new file. Update 2018-05-26 Due to popular demand, I've released a two-winged version of my prototype, which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2931629. However, keep in mind that this model requires some skill and is not recommended for beginners.
