Flex Leg for RcExplorer Tricopter
thingiverse
I became fed up with tie wraps breaking on even a slight bounce from landing with my rcexplorer tricopter. So I created these flex legs for the tricopter. They will work with any 10mm square tube, making them not limited to just the tricopter, but also any vehicle that uses 10mm square tubing and needs legs with some flexibility. The legs are incredibly tough and won't come loose, yet require no tie wraps or glue to stay in place. I really love these flex legs. ***Update 03-24-20*** I added a base for the 2-piece version that fits the tricopter LR. ***Update 01-13-2019*** I introduced a two-piece version based on the HD design, which allows both the leg and base to be printed without worrying about intra-layer weaknesses of 3D printing. This means no more supports, no more cleanup, and no more breaking either on hard landings or even when installing onto CF tubing. I highly recommend this version over the others. ***Update 10-8-2018*** I added an "HD" version with thicker side walls where it engages the 10mm tube for more sideways strength in landings where the copter is moving forward or backward a little. If you use the HD version, make sure to be extra careful when cleaning up after supports so it fits well to the tube. The standard wall version tolerates a slightly sloppy support cleanup job compared to the HD version.
