The models are highly realistic due to excellent animation and rendering techniques. Detailed designs include animatable features such as guns and turrets, anti-aircraft borfors, 20 mm cannons and 21" torpedoes, davits, whaleboats, hatches, propellers, and rudders. Flags can be added and animated, while anchors can be animated with anchor chains. Handrails, ladders, and hatches are visible throughout the model, as are life rafts that can be launched. The Fletcher class, a destroyer built by the United States during World War II, was designed in 1939 following dissatisfaction with previous destroyer leader types (Porter and Somers classes). Serving in multiple wars, some Fletcher-class ships continued into the Vietnam War. Named for Admiral Frank F. Fletcher, this class was the largest ordered and highly popular among destroyer crew members. The model is available in 10 different formats and features textures.
