Flesh and Bones

Here is a text about making prints on plastic material from the gyrobot website: Zombie Hand Printed in Two Materials Made from Filaflex skin and PLA bones, it is printed using my Dual Micro Extruder design and E3D Cyclops hot end. Printing this thing is like watching an X-ray come to life. This hand comes heavily modified from Makerbot's remake of Jewelry Hand. I attribute it to i.materialise for the original version, as well as Makerbot for the remake. My modifications took fingers and thumbs off the plane so you can print them into upper or lower halves. Finger bones in this model were remixed by Almir Covic. Repositioning these finger bones let them fit snug inside filaflex hands. Skeleton parts I had created using GrabCAD were merged together for me so now there's no joint movement here; it just sticks on together until further changes have been made to improve usability as classroom teaching materials - that might sound odd but honestly this works super great with learning new techniques because seeing real things help kids absorb knowledge much better than drawings ever could!
