Flatten The Curve pin
thingiverse
I created this pin as a visual reminder for people to engage in responsible behaviors and show solidarity with healthcare workers across the country. As an essential employee, I plan to wear this to work since I encounter many people daily, hoping it reminds them of why we're using social distancing, self-isolation, and other strategies to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The pin has a flat back, allowing you to decide how to attach it to your clothing. I used a bunch of clothing pins on hand that are easily attached to the back of the pin. I also use small pieces of foam to ensure it doesn't lean too far upwards or downwards. I deliberately chose the colors here to help explain the idea to curious people. The blue line represents what the medical system can handle, the red curve shows an overwhelming number of cases happening quickly, and the green curve shows the cases spread out, low enough that the medical system can safely handle the case load. I mixed cheap paint with water to get it into the text so it can be read easily from a greater distance, then painted over the top with white. I also tried coloring a second pin with markers to try and make it faster. These pins are not for sale; I'm distributing them because I hope they send an important message right now. I'm handing them out for free when I can. Please don't sell them. Feel free to edit the design as you need to, just please don't sell it.
