Flat Vise
thingiverse
This Flat Vise can be used to securely hold irregularly-shaped components during painting, drilling, soldering, sanding, and other tasks. The Vise can grasp objects both externally and internally just like a 4-Jaw Chuck. Its versatility is limited only by your creativity - and the strength of its grip. The PRT file for the Button is provided so that you can design similar Buttons with gripping features such as 'teeth' or a V-groove to hold thin parts, or any other custom need. This Flat Vise is comparable to a tool called the Crab Parts Holder sold by Micro-Mark Tools. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200 Infill: 50 Notes: PLA, ABS, or Nylon material can be used. I utilized PLA for all printed parts. The printing duties were shared with my 3D Systems Cube - 3rd Gen. Post-Printing See attached Assembly Instructions. How I Designed This These components were designed in Creo 2.0 (Pro/E) The hardware required can be purchased at a local supply store such as Ace Hardware or online from suppliers like McMaster-Carr. The four Pins that hold the Buttons can be dowel pins (as shown in the drawing) or tubing cut to size.
