Flat Test Cap for 1.5" PVC pipe - optional SO-239 hole
thingiverse
Flat versions of PVC pipe knockouts used for making an enclosure out of 1.5" PVC pipe. I made a dipole antenna center section with this and used the round chassis (D-shaped hole) SO-239 connectors avail at amazon. To make it into a choke balun, I used speaker wire (the kind with two wires made together in a pair) and wrapped it 3 times thru a snap on ferrite bead (3 was the most that would fit). This doesn't make a transformer, just a choke "balun." I then soldered the two wires to the so-239 and fit that assembly into 4 inches of pipe. Drilled holes in the pipe for exits for the two wires to attach to dipole leads (also speaker wire) and two more holes to thread paracord thru to make a hanger loop. If you look at an MFJ 1:1 balun, it will resemble the general idea, exept much thinner using test caps versus pipe caps like they used.
