Flat TARDIS Pattern (Xmas Tree Ornament) for a laser cutter
thingiverse
To create a TARDIS Christmas tree ornament, visit BBC America shop for an official hand-blown glass version if time is short. Alternatively, make your own at a local hackerspace using a laser cutter. The project began with Violet Succubus' "TARDIS Coloring" image on DeviantArt, which was refined and improved by the creator alongside two fellow hackerspace members named Matt. Despite needing window adjustments, the final version is considered complete. Laser cutting instructions include rastering green lines (text and St. John's Ambulance emblem) and defocusing the laser for black lines to create better-looking details. Ensure not to vectorize the green lines to avoid deep cuts. The recommended size for an ornament is 3" to 4" tall, and a hole can be added at the top of the lamp or on the ends of the roof's first step for hanging.
