Flat Surface Computer Fan Mount with Cable Guide for 120mm or 140mm
thingiverse
I expected this fan mount to be on the site, but it wasn't. So I created it. This is a custom mounting solution for flat surfaces designed to hold ubiquitous 120mm or 140mm computer fans in place. The design accommodates either 120mm or 140mm fans; I'm currently using 140mm models, but the mount should work with any fan featuring screw holes centered 7.5mm from the edges. In my specific application, I'll be installing seven fans in a pass-through between my office and the hallway at home. A Raspberry Pi will control them based on temperature differences between these two areas. The image shows nylon ties inserted through the holes to secure the fans, along with additional nylon ties at the top of each fan for added stability. I considered adding grommets to the top of the fans but haven't made a final decision yet; stay tuned for an update. Users can also opt for 40-50mm M5 screws, nuts, and washers if preferred. The stabilization arms boast multiple screw holes for securing the fans to surfaces or managing cables, accommodating both nylon ties and screws as needed.
