Flat-Sided Body for DeSteiner's 1887
thingiverse
After three separate attempts to print the body for this thing without supports (and all of them failing), I took the body model into Blender and sheared the non-engraved side to lay flat on the print bed. It uses more filament than the normal body but should print a lot more reliably than the original. Use the print settings you would normally use for printing this part (aside from whatever support settings you usually use) and be ready to file away some leftover support fragments on the inside of the part; make sure you file the hex nut sockets on the inside as well because otherwise, the nuts will not fit.
