This cupholder is made of three three interlocking parts . You can stick it in the sand to hold your drink upright at the beach. The two arms snap together with the ring in the center to for easy storage and packing, even if you're traveling on a plane. The ring is held captive in the center and spins freely, so it makes a satisfying fidget.Printing:Material: PETGThe whole point is to take this in the hot sun. PLA will probably get too soft, but I have had no problem with PETG.Nozzle: any (0.6 was used in the pictured part)Perimeters: 4 (or more, if using a smaller nozzle)Infill: 100% rectilinearBrim: 3mm, 0.11 separationThis is optional but ensures the parts are nice and flat since they are large and thinSpeeds: If you have adhesion issues, lower the first layer speed. The slicer_flat_pack_cupholder.3mf file has all these settings and the preconfigured layouts for the parts. Just mark the parts you want as printable and move them onto the bed. Don't use the auto-layout feature or you'll lose the configuration of the arms.Print a complete set of arms (the peg side and the hole side) in one print.Print two or more rings at a time.Post-processing:Remove the brims from all the parts.Usage (see the video above):Collapsed/flat pack configuration:Place the ring in the inset on one of the arm parts. Snap the mating piece on top.Carry with your beach gear.Open for use:Unsnap the arm parts from their storage configuration.Insert one arm into the interlocking slot on the other arm so they are crossed. Snap the ring into the insets on all four arms.Stick into the sand to hold your beverage of choice.
