flat nose Rotorx Atom 3/4" Canopy
thingiverse
This is a small variation on DaltzisSalt's original version - I was having trouble getting a good nose with the contours in the original model, so I chopped a little bit off leaving a good flat surface to build up from. This lets me print without using a raft and I got a much cleaner result. I printed in PETG with 2 perimeters, 4 bottom and top layers, 10% infill, and it came out at 13.7 grams. The original polycarbonate canopy from RotorX is around 9 grams. On January 5th, I added a new version that's based on building my Atom. Using the HGLRC Zeus, it covers the rear canopy mounting holes. I was trying to use 3mm standoffs as nuts on the front two holes, but they were a pain to put in and remove, so I built up the area around the holes to just thread into. Additionally, I added cutouts on the side for the USB FC connector and to get to the boot button on the Zeus. I also made another cutout on the side since I was going to use a Runcam Mini Split 2, but am having trouble with getting the white splash screen on it, so I'm scratching that. I modified the cam mount to fit the larger Swift Mini 2 JohnnyFPV version. I also made the flats for the screws for the camera mount larger so I could use a 2mm washer so the screw head doesn't pull through the hole. On January 21st, Dalton shared his original Fusion 360 project with me, so I took the changes from January 5th and applied it to that and made a few more changes. The big one was since I'm using a dipole antenna, I added side supports and holes for a zip tie to tie it in place - no way it will break off now in a crash.
