Here is a simple light switch that can be easily created using SolidWorks. To begin, start by creating a new part in SolidWorks and naming it "Light Switch". This will help you keep track of your design as you progress. Next, create a new sketch on the front face of the part and draw a rectangle with the following dimensions: 2 inches wide and 1 inch tall. This will be the base of the light switch. Now, add two circular holes to the top left and right corners of the rectangle, each with a diameter of 0.25 inches. These holes will serve as the mounting points for the switch's electrical components. Switch to the back face of the part and draw another rectangle, this time with dimensions of 1 inch wide and 2 inches tall. This will be the back plate of the light switch. Add two more circular holes to the top left and right corners of the back plate, each with a diameter of 0.25 inches. These holes will serve as the mounting points for any additional electrical components that may be needed. Now, add a slot to the bottom edge of the front face, centered between the two circular holes. This slot will allow you to easily install or remove the light switch from its mounting point. Switch back to the front face and draw a small rectangle with dimensions of 0.5 inches wide and 0.25 inches tall. This will be the button that activates the light switch. Add a circular hole to the center of the button, with a diameter of 0.125 inches. This hole will serve as the mounting point for any electrical components that may be needed. Finally, add some text labels to the part to indicate what each component does. For example, you can label the button "Turn On/Off" and the back plate "Back Plate". With these steps complete, your simple light switch is now ready to use in a SolidWorks assembly!
