thingiverse
This is very much a work in progress. I have not been able to test print this yet (waiting for parts from China)
the idea is to be able to apply this hinge to other models by including the module and positioning the generated bit.
I have made this to add to my propagation ball ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5549539 )but I can see it being useful in many applications.
Call like this.
build_hinge(iheight,iwidth,ilength,ispacing,ipinspacing,ipindepth)
pin spacing and pin depth are to allow for more solid construction of the hinge. I felt that just using one value for spacing between parts might not work so well for the actual interlocking part.
I believe the shorter the pin the easier it will print, but obviously, too short and the hinge wont be bound together.
v2.1 slight tweaking of code.
moved hinge origin to align with X=0 axis to make placement easier in parent code.
happy to take comments and suggestions.
