Flat and round Bee escape (two different designs)
thingiverse
Two distinct models of bee escape are designed for a 92mm opening, featuring a flat profile that ensures a secure fit within divider boards without the need for edging. I created these designs to address what I see as a significant drawback in existing factory-made bee escapes - they are simply too large. Additionally, my goal was to create an option allowing users to switch between one-way and two-way traffic flow; however, this feature is still in development. One design employs the 'vortex' approach, while the other utilizes a more straightforward 'funnel' method. Both models have been thoroughly tested and have proven effective. If you are interested in comparing the efficiency of these two designs, I encourage you to collect and share relevant data through the comment section. The included SCAD file allows for some customization, but please note that it is not intended to be highly customizable, so there is no guarantee that modified parts will maintain their correct dimensions or function properly. This design consists of two interlocking pieces that simplify the printing process.
