Flashlight diffuser
thingiverse
This simple flashlight diffuser is a cheap and effective solution for a 24mm lens diameter LED flashlight. The design can be attached permanently, making it a convenient option for those who need to diffuse the light from their flashlights. The dimensions of this diffuser are X: 24mm, Y: 24mm, and Z: 30mm. I created this design specifically to address the issue of uneven lighting on my son's Minecraft torch, which was printed using a 3D printer. The flashlight itself was too directional, making it necessary for me to find a solution. I scaled down the diffuser to fit a 23mm lens diameter LED flashlight from a dollar store and attached it successfully using hot glue. The print settings used were clear PLA with a shell thickness of 0.8mm, no infill, and a layer height of 0.1mm. In retrospect, I should have opted for a thicker shell to ensure the diffuser was fully filled at the top, even with active cooling. However, a dab of hot glue resolved this issue.
