So one of the minuses of the Inventor is that it holds spools inside the printer. Perhaps they were trying to push users towards purchasing FF filament, but if so, why would they make everything closed source? If they sell a 3D printer, shouldn't they be working on overcoming these challenges? Thanks to toolman207 for his brilliant work. He created external filament holders that attach to the Inventor's side. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2178642 I really like the vents and entry point in toolman207's design, but I wanted an external holder and enclosure for my filament because printing in the basement with drying clothes makes it a humid environment. The vents and internal brace/frame from toolman207 were inspirational, so they were reconstructed in Fusion360. The fit of the external vent is fine, perhaps just a little loose. The internal frame is pretty tight, with edges that snap in and a slight inward bow. There are two larger openings where filament can snake through to the tubes. The filament is held externally by The Ultimate Spool Holder, found here at Thingiverse. It sits inside a sealed container with a desiccant. Filament comes through the container via a PTFE tube in a rubber grommet. It really doesn't matter if the sides are switched - it's just a matter of preference. Do you want the filament opening to be towards the front or the rear? It's like having your own custom printer, only better.
