Flashforge Finder Filament Spool Shelf
thingiverse
I wanted to design a custom spool holder for my Flashforge Finder printer, allowing me to use non-proprietary filament spools. After researching online, I discovered Phil_Read's outstanding design but found it too complex and decided to simplify it since I didn't have any metal pipes on hand. Based on Phil's original model, I created a base that can hold a shelf using an M5 bolt and a wing nut. The shelf itself is made of wood and features a hole where I've inserted a filament guide. I used a pre-made guide that fits a 36mm hole, which I happened to have in my garage, but there are also other designs available online for different dimensions. To complete the spool holder, I attached it to two TUSH Advanced holders that I remixed from another remix of the original design. The result is impressive, with significantly reduced friction and strain on the filament as it's pulled straight down into the motor, making it work just as well as the built-in filament holder.
