Flashforge Finder Filament Sensor Mount
thingiverse
Human: Filament sensor mount for the Flashforge Finder. This innovative solution clips securely to the top of the print head assembly via the vent holes, ensuring unobstructed airflow while in operation. To connect the wires between the sensor PCB and the contacts inside the Finders filament cartridge slot, located at the back of the printer, you'll need to perform some basic soldering tasks. The PCB mounts upside down for optimal performance, as this is crucial for engaging the switch properly when the filament passes through. To assemble the mount, pieces are carefully CA glued into place after precise alignment has been verified. This meticulous approach ensures a seamless fit and optimal functionality of the sensor system. If you prefer not to use the guide tube, you can modify the design to incorporate another tube as a substitute, allowing for greater flexibility in your setup. Note that some newer models of the Flashforge Finder do not include a filament sensor by default. I'm currently working with Flashforge to develop a solution that will work seamlessly with these units and will post my findings here for further reference. UPDATE: Following up on this issue, Flashforge has informed me that if your Finder model does not come equipped with a built-in sensor, it is unfortunately not possible to add one due to the limitations of the board itself.
