FlashForge Creator Pro umbilical wire support
thingiverse
This is a small but crucial upgrade for the latest edition of the FlashForge Creator Pro. The purpose of this upgrade is to keep the umbilical cord between the printer and nozzles firmly upright. Without it, the cord tends to sag to one side on my printer, increasing the risk that it rubs against the transparent cover when installed. This results in noise and puts extra stress on the steppers. With this simple support, the cord is much better centered. Use two cable ties or zip ties to secure as shown in the photo. The only drawback is a slightly provocative shape… but this becomes invisible once the upgrade is installed :). It's recommended to print this in ABS or another flexible plastic material. PLA may be too stiff and could break easily. Supports will likely be needed for the bottom-most overhang, unless you've already dialled in your settings to print the other overhangs without them. Update 2016/09/23: I updated the model to v2, making it easier to print, slightly stronger, and simpler to attach zip ties or cable ties. It may be possible to print it without supports if your bridging capabilities are extremely well-developed. Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm
