We experimented with numerous Flashforge Spool Holders until we developed a design generic enough to accommodate any spool size. We drew inspiration from cones, which feature varying diameters from top to bottom, allowing them to match spools of different internal diameters. To get started, you'll need to print 1x Inside Clamp.stl and 1x Back Washer.stl, as well as either 2x Frustum.stl or 2x Frustum Sharper.stl. A 1/4" or 6mm screw measuring 6 inches in length, paired with three nuts, will be used to clamp all three components together, with the spool situated between them. Printer Settings: * Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.3 * Infill: 25 Post-Printing Assembly: Insert the Inside Clamp.stl from within the printer, ensuring it aligns flush with the back of the device. Next, insert a 1/4" screw into the hole of the Inside Clamp, followed by the Washer.stl from behind the printer. Secure this component using one nut and tighten by hand or using a spanner. Place the first Frustum inside the screw, positioning its narrow end away from the printer. Insert your spool next. Then, place the second Frustum inside the screw, pointing its narrow end towards the printer. Align and lift the spool before adding another nut to the screw. Tighten this nut securely and ensure the spool remains free to move. Finally, affix a piece of tape to the end of the screw to prevent the nut from becoming loose over time. How I Created This: Necessity indeed sparks innovation. Designed using 123D Design, this solution was born out of necessity and features a cone-inspired design with varying diameters for maximum adaptability.
