Flashforge Creator Pro SD Card Grip

Flashforge Creator Pro SD Card Grip

cults3d

This is a customizable SD card grip similar to several others here on Thingiverse. Its main features include customization, allowing you to tailor it to your needs. The default dimensions have a short SD slot that enables use with an SD socket featuring a 'push it to release' mechanism, such as the Flashforge Creator Pro. The model comes equipped with a built-in support wall, which facilitates easy printing and produces cleaner results than automatic supports generated by slicers. This support wall is one extrusion wide and can be easily removed using a X-acto knife (it can also be disabled in the customizer). I printed this grip in the default laying down orientation using ABS, a 0.4mm extruder, and 0.2mm layer thickness without material support. Once I removed the support wall and ensured a snug fit for the SD card in the channel, I glued it there with super glue. A good method to clean the edge of this print and other ABS prints is using debarring tools such as this one: http://amzn.com/B00CRWK7IY This grip works seamlessly with the Flashforge Creator Pro, which has a push-to-release mechanism. However, since I can easily pull the SD card out with the grip, I simply push it in and pull it out without using the release mechanism.
