Flashforge Creator Pro SD Card Grip

Flashforge Creator Pro SD Card Grip

thingiverse

This is a versatile SD card holder similar to several others featured here on Thingiverse. Its standout features include customization options that enable you to tailor its design to suit your specific needs. By default, the dimensions of this model incorporate a compact SD slot that facilitates seamless compatibility with SD sockets equipped with a 'push-to-release' mechanism, such as those found in Flashforge Creator Pro models. One notable advantage of this design is its built-in support wall, which streamlines the printing process and yields cleaner results compared to relying on automatic support generation from slicers. This support wall is just one extrusion wide and can be easily removed using a X-acto knife (a feature that can also be disabled within the customizer). To print this model, I used a standard laying-down orientation with ABS material, an 0.4mm extruder, and 0.2mm layer settings without any material support. After carefully removing the support wall and ensuring a snug fit for the SD card within its channel, I secured it in place using super glue. A useful tip for refining the edge of this print and other ABS prints is to employ a deburring tool like the one available from Amazon at http://amzn.com/B00CRWK7IY. This grip has proven highly effective when paired with Flashforge Creator Pro models, which feature push-to-release mechanisms. However, I've found it's just as easy to insert and remove SD cards using this grip alone, rendering the release mechanism unnecessary.
