Flashforge Creator Pro Magnetic Door Latch
thingiverse
I was fed up with constantly forcing my door open because I would keep forgetting to remove the latch that held it in place, which I had printed out a while ago as an accessory for my printer. So, I decided to design and print this simple magnetic door latch, utilizing two powerful Neodymium 1/2 x 1/8 inch Disc N48 Magnets, one of which was super glued directly onto the door and the other attached firmly into the holder with hot glue. To attach the new latch, follow these easy steps: Remove the central screw (2.5mm hex) from the front frame of my Flashforge Creator Pro Printer. Next, insert the screw into the holder and screw it down tightly until it is fully secured. Carefully place the holder back into the printer, positioning it so that it faces downwards and tighten the screw firmly. Now, use the holder to unscrew itself (do not touch the screw) by gently turning the handle. With a steady hand, apply a small amount of hot glue to attach one magnet securely to the holder while keeping the other magnet connected. Allow the glue to cool completely before proceeding with the final steps. Using the holder as leverage, carefully screw it back into place within the printer and ensure that it is tightened firmly while facing downwards. Take hold of the remaining unattached magnet and carefully position it on top of a small drop of super glue that I had placed strategically for this moment. Hold the door open and apply gentle pressure to secure the magnet firmly in place. The Print Settings used for this model were: Printer: Flashforge Creator Pro Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.1000 Infill: 25%
