FlashForge Creator Pro 2015 universal spool holder by Nas
thingiverse
This is a universal FlashForge Creator Pro spool holder designed specifically for models that have a slot where the holder clamps securely. The design is adaptable to fit any spool size and diameter. The closing mechanism features a cone-based system, where the spool rests and is pushed downwards, locking into place using strategically positioned slots. As the closing cone piece rotates, it will not exit the holder until an upward force is applied. This model is my second version, and it functions flawlessly. The dimensions of the spool holder measure 19 mm in diameter and 110 mm in length, while the larger diameter of the closing cone measures 56 mm. All of my spools fit within these specifications, including the Octave 3DP with a small spool hole measuring only 20 mm. This FlashForge spool holder design was inspired by two existing creations: Thing 714533 and Thing 508896. I aimed to differentiate myself from other designs by avoiding metal screws and instead creating a holder with slots featuring a larger cone that relies on the weight of the spool to secure it into place while still allowing for rotation. To further enhance functionality, I have included an optional washer for large-diameter spools. This washer rotates in tandem with the internal cone, minimizing friction by entering the spool holder before the filament spool. Please note that this additional part does not alter the previous design. A recent update to this design introduced a new secondary closing cone with a larger end diameter, capable of accommodating spools with diameters up to 60 mm. The external end diameter of this updated cone measures an impressive 67 mm.
