FlashForge A3 Spool Adapter 2021 revision
thingiverse
First, kudos to @irishfrog for the basic idea! I bought my printer in mid-April 2021 and once again the spool holder inside the printer has been revised by FlashForge. So the posted spool holders (together with the remixes) were not suitable for my printer. Since the adapter is longer than what the printer can print, I made it in 2 parts that I put together with hot silicone*. This revision has cross-shaped ribs with little gaps in each side for the round parts this printer has. In the part that goes inside the printer, I made some 3d texturing to add strength (it also reduces filament usage a bit). I am not a big fan of plastic threads, so in the outer part I kept the same concept except for the spool lock. For that, I designed a custom circlip that can change position according to the spool width. *Update: I have redesigned the connection of the two rods of the spool holder. I made it, so you can separate them at any time and even add a 100 mm height change extension if for example you have your desk next to it for example. The parts are locked into place. You just have to insert the one part to the other and rotate it 90° clockwise. This way you if you need a re-print you don't have to print the whole thing again, and you can remove it if not needed or if you want to transfer it or something.
