Flash Projector

A 3D printable slide projector, compatible with Nikon SB-600 flash, is designed for synchronization with a camera to project images or patterns during photography. The setup involves attaching a flash at the back and a lens at the front to focus light. A flashlight is useful for focusing, followed by switching to flash. Custom slides with patterns are ideal for creating diverse effects, while mounted slide film works excellently too. This model is tailored for Nikon Speedlight SB-600 and a Nikon lens mount; a Bower 85mm 1.4 lens has been used for testing. Other lenses can be employed, requiring manual opening of the aperture, except newer "G" lenses which may not work as well. The project was created using Tinkercad, and Meshmixer was utilized to generate support material for printing. A crucial factor is maintaining the "flange distance" of 46.5mm between the slide slot and the front of the Camera mount, as it ensures proper focusing for Nikon cameras; its significance in projecting light remains unclear.
