Flash Earphone holder
thingiverse
This is a remix of the Terminus Earbud reel. I printed the original model in grey, but I wanted to customize it at first. I decided to make it red and black, but then it occurred to me to make it look like the flash emblem with a lightning bolt in the middle. This is scaled to full size in mm. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 20 Notes: I used lines support at a 15% fill amount as it gave enough support and was easiest to remove in Cura. The grid support is harder to remove. It took about over an hour to print. Post-Printing: Masking: I tried different masking techniques, including masking tape and putting a circular piece of paper in the middle. The paper worked quite well, but if you go with that method, I would advise using multiple sheets as the paint bled through around the edges. Painting: I spray painted it red after masking. I probably should have used primer, but I didn't. I did a couple coats and made sure to get all the visible faces. Some of the inner walls were left unpainted on purpose. After removing the masking, I painted the lightning bolt with yellow acrylic paint. Since it was printed in white, I didn't need to paint around the lightning bolt. However, one of my prints had a different design, and painting the middle white first could be an option. You could then mask it and spray paint the rest red, finally adding the lightning bolt.
