Flare Holder (QUASS)
grabcad
Originally, a QUASS (Quick Attachment Support System) was developed for quick connection of various accessories to a quad/mav/uav. The latest update involves the creation of a flare holder that can accommodate flares or smoke devices ranging from 1-2 inches in diameter. This 3D printable design is exclusive to 3D printing, as it uses the tensile force of ABS plastic to hold the flares in place while expanding its size to accommodate larger diameters. The flare holder idea emerged due to the continued use of flares over other light technologies, owing to their affordability, durability, and lightweight nature. With this system, a Mav can emit a significant amount of light, which can be navigated using GPS to loiter at high altitudes while emergency crews work on the ground. The light source can also be changed easily thanks to the mobile nature of drone technology. Any .stl file with "3DPR" in the title includes integrated support material and is ready for net fab and slicing processes. Your feedback and support are appreciated!
