Yamaha FJR is an extremely popular motorcycle globally. It boasts detachable sidecases that seamlessly integrate into two precision-cut holes in the bike's bodywork. These cleverly designed holes feature removable covers, allowing riders to enjoy the sleek look without the cases when desired. Unfortunately, many enthusiasts misplace these covers over time, prompting a costly replacement. Determined to save some cash, I decided to take matters into my own hands. When printed upside-down, this design requires no supports whatsoever. However, I prefer printing them face-up for aesthetic reasons - it's less obvious that they're 3D printed, and the resulting finish is less glossy on top. When printing face-up, of course, additional supports are essential to ensure a successful print job.
