The North American FJ-1 Fury jet fighter marked a significant milestone in aviation history as it became the first jet fighter to be used by the US Navy. The design of its tail, wing, and cockpit was heavily influenced by the P-51 Mustang, but it eventually evolved into the F-86 and FJ-3 with the introduction of swept wings. I must admit that I'm not particularly fond of the way this model prints, as the wingtip tanks often come out looking subpar. In fact, they're so bad that I usually end up removing them altogether. The 3D model was created in full dimensions using Blender 2.80 and then exported from Blender 2.79b at a scale of 1/100 to produce the STL file. From there, it was scaled down to 35% in the slicer. I've encountered some issues while trying to export STL files from Blender 2.80 for use with Cura. Interestingly, both 2.79b and 2.80 export the same mesh but produce different file sizes. To avoid any inconsistencies, I've taken to exporting the mesh from 2.79b. For reference, the d6 used in this model is a standard 15mm cube.
